A group of students from 2nd to 6th Year Secondary (Years 8-12) have taken part in a MUN (Model United Nations) Conference on June 2, at Instituto Crandon.
Model United Nations Conferences are simulations of the sessions of several forums of the United Nations, where students represent a country and defend its interests but bearing in mind that global solutions must be reached. Our students must speak in English while doing so. They prepare for the Conferences at our MUN Club on Wednesdays.
At this latest Conference our students (more than 30) represented Armenia, Chad, China and Bangladesh. The issues discussed are currently being debated at the UN, and they included the situation in Kashmir, artificial intelligence, the treatment of space debris, the war in Syria, cryptocurrency and the Rohingya crisis.
We are proud of the way our students, both junior and senior, tackled the challenge.
